These oven baked churros with chocolate dip are a delight to eat! They're really simple to prepare without the need for deep frying!
I shared the post on Facebook too.
Steps and ingredients are few and simple.
Ingredients
1/2 cup water (120ml)
40g unsalted butter
1 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
1 egg
70g plain flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Olive oil
50g dark couverture chocolate
Look at that...
I had mine piped with a Wilton 1M piping tip. You may use baking paper too.
I like them small but you can definitely make them larger.
I was lazy so I melted my couverture chocolate over a bowl of hot water instead of double boiling. Works great for a small quantity!
Browning well in the oven!
Nice and crispy despite not having been deep fried.
You may coat them in a mixture of sugar with ground cinnamon once they're hot and out of the oven. Delicious as is too!
Here are the steps..
Steps
1. Into pot/saucepan, add water, unsalted butter, sugar and pinch of salt.
2. Bring mixture to a boil.
3. Take pot/saucepan off heat. Add flour. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
4. Allow mixture to cool for a couple of minutes before adding eggs in 2 additions. Mix well.
5. Fill piping bag with 1M piping tip and mixture.
6. Pipe onto silicon baking mat or baking paper.
7. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil into churros. You can also use non-stick spray.
8. Bake churros in preheated oven of 200 degree Celsius for 20 to 25 mins. Churros should turn golden brown.
9. Roll churros in a pre-prepared mixture of sugar and cinnamon while it is still hot.
10. Double boil couverture chocolate over a pot of water to melt it. Or, use my lazy way 😂
11. Enjoy!
