I found some templates for suncatchers so I decided to try them! The original idea involved melting hot glue gun sticks and tracing the outline of the printed image on plastic sheets. I chose Ikea food bags. I managed to do that but I soon ran out of glue sticks.
So as we played and progressed, I used markers and printed more templates like Elmo, Cookie Monster and Stitch for Adriel but I used markers to trace them.
We used our Martha Stewart's acrylic paints and they were fairly sheer enough for light to seep through.
Most kids paints should work!
We even had models so that we can colour match as much as possible.
It's a fun and fairly low prep activity if you use the marker method. Have fun!
